“Remember you are capable, resourceful and an intelligent being.
You set the bar. Consider the bars you set as a rung to a ladder climbing higher, taking steps closer to your destiny.”
~ A. Cherise Alley
Angela Cherise Alley, name meaning Angel of Love, known to some as Angel or simply Cherise, has a “strong soft” approach to addressing youth matters. She believes youth are the under spoken in society and they need to recognize their voice and talents. Angel teaches youth to acknowledge their feelings with gentleness in a way to move their lives forward. She facilitates healing and empowerment through expanding the human experience by understanding human development. The concentration of workshops is emotional wellness to personal achievement.
Angel studied and graduated with a Master of Arts, Behavioral Science emphasis in Negotiation & Conflict Management from CSU, Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles County, California. While earning her degree, she worked as an Elementary School Teacher for Inglewood Unified School District. By first hand experience, Angel learned of the challenges educators face with managing student behavior to administer curriculum. The result was combining her interests into a thesis on Educational Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Afterward, Angel began her career life by teaching middle and high school students peer mediation. Then she was recruited to become the first Safe & Drug Free Program Coordinator for Inglewood Unified School District. Angel broadened her professional experience in conflict resolution to: mediating family/youth conflicts, victim-offender restitution services, and trained in abuse and neglect mediation; facilitating dialogues; training teachers, executives of non-profits, and the collegiate community; Investigator for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (UPS); and, support youth and caregivers through foster-adoption issues.
KidzCan is purposed to reconnect youth to global society in a meaningful way. There are stages in the human development cycle that are true to all of humanity. The facilitated workshops include interactive youth dialogues, role plays, activities, and visioning to action. Empowerment workshops will facilitate critical thinking, inner-personal communication, team-building, self-efficacy, personal and social responsibility.
KidzCan recognizes the increasing challenges of peer group norms, student success or the lack thereof, thus, college enrollment, employability and sadly, the over saturated probation population and ever booming jail/prison system. Kidz Can has been established to provide a message to youth to empower, overcome trauma or misfortune, and live dynamically.
As a Speaker/Facilitator/Trainer Angel wishes to impact youth to know they are capable, intelligible beings. KidzCan create and live their ideal lives.
